During this second term of Trump.

Trump need’s someone to lick his balls and currently the various GOP congressional people are vying for the opportunity to please him.

They are all complicit in all the crimes Donald Trump is committing but nobody will ever be held accountable because SCROTUS, presidential pardon power, billionaire funding, etc.

Their power and authority.

It's how end stage capitalism always destroys democracy or any peaceful society.

Congress becomes a willing partner in destroying itself in exchange for wealth and money. But what if wealth or money wasn't needed to live a happy, peaceful and healthy life? Then giving away your official power and authority would have no benefits.

... it's not so much that they have given up, though that is true, but that they've been in on it from the git-go.
Republicans have always hated democracy. As evidence of their treachery, please recall the so-called Business Plot of 1933, wherein a group of Republicans tried to recruit Marine Major General (ret.), Smedley Butler to do the wetwork for their proposed overthrow of FDR. Instead, he dropped a dime on 'em and gave testimony under oath to a Senate committee. Nothing was done. There are myriad examples of Republican perfidy, and the list is long.
Malice, greed, deceit, and corruption are the cornerstones of Republican political philosophy, such as it is. Conservatism belongs at the dark end of the sociopathy spectrum. Trump is a glaring example of how far Right-wing extremists are willing to go to achieve their despicable ends.

The "nothing was done" part is the cornerstone. Politicians who were in on the plot continued to be elected to Congress, millionaire financiers who had backed the plot suffered not the slightest dent to their bottom lines, and everyone went on as though it hadn't happened. Which is pretty much what is happening now. The best you get is "concern" voiced by people who really couldn't care less.

I figure DJT will award himself the Medal of Honor for this operation, and sycophants all across the nation will gush about what a great and decisive leader he is. Hell, he might even stay awake through most of the encomiums.

Won't matter after Martial Law is declared.
They've abdicated their power to the Unitary Executive.
Wait until they find out what they've done.

tells DJT to do. ....And yes, I know Krasnov has been all in for Putin since the 80's. The MSM and 1/3 of Americans seem to doubt that despite 2019 Congressional testimony by Fiona Hill and others.

Health insurance for life, after a certain time. George Santos explicitly said that's one reason why he had run.

Turns out there would be another benefit of Healthcare for All - fewer corrupt Congress members.

challenged him when he tried to expand the Supreme Court from 9-12 justices. This Republican Congress, with very few exceptions, have been completely cowed by the fascist regime. Some who have pushed back have even received death threats from the MAGAt mob.

The only positive from the blatantly illegal Venezuela invasion is that if the midterm results are only somewhat suppressed by Trump's efforts, they have the potential to be an epic landslide.
