More reaction to Maduroâs âarrestâ

Moulton: "When we had briefings on Venezuela, we asked, 'Are you going to invade the country?' We were told no. 'Do you plan to put troops on the ground?' We were told no. 'Do you intend regime change in VZ?' We were told no. So in a sense, we have been briefed, we've just been completely lied to"

(52,197 posts)No matter what republicans do or don't do, there will be some who will blame Democrats instead of holding republicans accountable.
Clearly some people aren't paying attention. Did they want those Democrats to come and knock on their doors and speak out in person? AND they need to stop blaming Democrats for everything republicans do. Being a Democrat in DC is truly a thankless job.

Democrats have been taking shortcuts to justice for political expediency. One of the latest examples is the Democrats who voted for the Laiken Riley Act, and votes to confirm trump cabinet members. The GOPs turned minority power into this regime by leveraging racism and greed and duped Democrats.
This country is doomed. Justice will come in the elimination of our species.

(38,848 posts)Are they holding emergency meetings? Is anyone proposing a plan to counteract Trump?
Or are they just going to go on record saying:
1. Maduro's a bad guy
2. Trump illegally invaded
3. Congress wasn't consulted

Its all so sadly predictable.

(19,797 posts)or give them super powers.
The facts are that Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, and that Trump acted illegally while not consulting Congress.
Im not sure what else you can reasonably expect.

(24,254 posts)tearing the administration apart and Moulton was very good on CNN. I liked the framing from Moulton. I hope all Dems echo it. He said trump was willing to spend a billion dollars on taking over a foreign country but not spend that on your healthcare. He emphasized that this does nothing to help Americans and is a direct contradiction of the so called "America first" policy. Hats off to both of them.

(28,720 posts)Saw it here the other day. Oh right, the Democratic Party is corrupted by billionaires and oligarchs because Pete Buttigieg had an event at a Californian wine cave in 2019.
That's always the big proof, absolutely nothing. And when you can't go after policy because there's little to no difference between what any Democrat or Independent could get done, go after character and pummel Democrats with personal insults and dire predictions of the terrible things they'll do or that they'll do nothing because both sides, etc.

(58,361 posts)There was much outrage in response to that simple and legitimate question, and it was called "bashing" and "attacking" by the small posse that insists, "You're attacking Democrats if you suggest Democrats are anything other than useless wimps who have no power and no role to play in anything."
But, as the day went on, the very simple and legitimate question of that OP was answered.
The answer is this: Many Democrats did call it an illegal action, and they spoke against it. But some Democrats came out in support of the illegal action, and many Democrats have so far said nothing.

(45,675 posts)Ive been warned. Whatever shall I do?
Scrivener7
(58,361 posts)"Noted" is a way to say your words have been heard or read without attaching an opinion to those words.
So, once again, you're making up meanings that just aren't there.
You really should stop doing that.

(45,675 posts)I well remember that threat to journalists during W Bush's maladministration. Of course it's a warning, but nice try, sweetheart. A warning of nothing because you have no power over me but nonetheless.
You really should stop doing that.
I believe calling another DUer a liar is a violation. You really should stop doing that.

(19,287 posts)as to what we're allowed to post....probably with a "Leave Fetterman alone! You're lucky he even performs for you!" section.
I mean, seems we're not even supposed to say anything except "that's good that you did that, real good....please don't wish me into the cornfield!".
Yep, I am still cranky as hell today. Watching our country burn, with no way to stop or even slow it will do that to a person.

(52 posts)They can't just make a few social media posts, memes, and go on a few talk shows, write a few strongly worded letters.
I hate to say it but they need to RAISE HELL just like the GOP would do.
Now is the time to mimic the children of the GOP.

The words "Third Way" really gets some worked up even though it's boring meetings nobody pays attention to. Like how the DNC is a diabolical powerful cabal instead of occasional meetings about financial things and planning the national convention.

(175,007 posts)The claims that the Democrats have been silent are simply false. As a minority party, there are limits to the legislative actions that can be taken.
Thank you for the OP
Mad_Machine76
(24,936 posts)is that when Democrats DO speak out, theyre still then accused of just writing a strongly worded letter. There are, unfortunately, too many people who:
A. Think both parties are the same, so whats the point of voting for Dems?
B. Dont understand how Congress works and think the minority party has secret powers that theyre just purposefully not using for reasons.

(28,420 posts)Is why are enough people here claiming that Democrats aren't speaking out that you feel the need to post an OP to refute them?
In fact, why do you feel a need to refute them at all if their claims are obviously baseless to the great majority here?
Not attacking you, just curious.
