The plot of "Three Days of the Condor" (1975) was prescient.

The CIA agent told the reporter ("Condor" ) that the day will come when the American people will want our government to move against another country just to take its oil.

Also, the international hitman warned Condor not to accept the ride from someone familiar who was offering it. Mike Pence must have watched the movie.

I remember posting about that movie and the plot here in DU some 20 years ago ( plus or minus ).
