George Clooney Hits Back After Trump Slams Him on Social Media: 'We Have to Make America Great Again. We'll Start in Nov

George Clooney suggested the midterm elections could put the country on the right track in a response to President Trump’s snarky social media posts about the actor’s recent decision to get French citizenship.

On New Year’s Eve, the president hailed Clooney’s move as “Good News!” and made a stream-of-consciousness reference to the movie star’s 2024 op-ed urging former President Biden to drop out of the race.

“Remember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz [sic], Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Clooney got more publicity for politics than he did for his very few, and totally mediocre, movies. He wasn’t a movie star at all, he was just an average guy who complained, constantly, about common sense in politics. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

In response, Clooney, who has been one of Hollywood’s most outspoken critics of Trump, used the president’s own mantra. “I totally agree with the current president,” he said. “We have to make America great again. We’ll start in November.”
