Who else is skeptical of Q3 GDP number?

4.3% growth in the GDP, landing 1.2% above the estimate.

Trump fired the BLS head when he didn't like the numbers, so are we to believe that the new appointee didn't get that message?

Now, I know that there are career people gathering those numbers, but the director has the final say.

I just don't think a miss on GDP that large in legit. Sorry

Those numbers even if true are elevated due to the higher cost of everything, which is because of Trumps incompetence.

If they said that winter in Barrow, AK is cold and dark, I'd buy a parka, sunglasses, a swimsuit, snowboots, sunscreen and a thermometer before my visit.

They were hoping to get some juice out of this fake number but no one is buying it.

This outfit won't give out any corrections unless they can find a way to massage the numbers to make Mango Mussolini look better.

12. If they don't, then this will make next year's growth numbers even more absurd

They will not want to show declining or flat growth in an election year. So they will have to either revise this quarter down or fudge the numbers even more next year.

Apparently a good chunk of the GDP boost was from purchase of computer equipment for data centers.... so the AI bubble is boosting the GDP.

Given how tariffs have been started, then stopped for 90 days (ie, stopped for a quarter), then restarted in some cases, I expect lower GDP growth for the 4th quarter. But doing it this way, the regime avoids 2 weak quarters in a row, which might be regarded as recessionary.

This is the first post BLS stats and they appear to have been mightily manipulated to get the results the orange oligarch preferred.
