One thing that might have been easily missed in that speech: The president said he planned next year to “announce some of the most aggressive housing reform plans in American history.”

All so shitty data centers can boost the current AI grift stocks, and, so obnoxious, HOA-filled, Lilly-White McMansion suburb spam can spread like a malicious growth throughout the beautiful lands that will become a distant memory.

Nothing is sacred. Destroy all that is beautiful. The line must go up endlessly.

sees trouble ahead for the housing market. I plan on cutting my latest project short (remodeling an existing home and extra lot to build on) and selling while I can still get a good price. Looks like we are heading toward at least an event similar to the 2008 Bush Crash and Great Recession. The properties I held then lost a significant percent of their value and I certainly do not want a repeat of that scenario. l had to hold onto that build and land until the market finally recovered. It could get ugly in 2026.

... the $2K/month rentals have fallen to $1.2K per month. Where there were very few older houses for sale there's one or two on almost every street.

If I were in your shoes I think I'd try renting my properties Or find quick cash offers. I think you're right: there's going to be a big shake out.

I wonder if TACO thinks he is going to shock the REIT to open up the estimated seven million unoccupied units of housing they hold in reserve to keep prices up.

is that now we can no longer rely on accurate economic information from this outlaw administration. As well as accurate info on most everything else, including healthcare, jobs, et al. Real estate brokers and agents are chronically optimistic in order to keep buyers and sellers coming, so no real help there in making sound decisions.
