Eff the effing Faux outrage

Just eff it.

If you listened to one second of hate-radio over the past 50 years, or watched a second of Faux News over the past 40 years, or watched that vile, orange piece of amphibian shit mock the disabled, or tuned into your TV on January 6, 2021, you can't be shocked by the Donnie Dipshit reaction to the murder of Rob and Michelle Reiner....YOU JUST CAN'T!

If you have been paying attention to the last 50 years of what passes for "journalism", or "entertainment", you knew that we were one-fucking Retrumplican majority away from masked, unidentified, armed fascists snatching people off the street and disappearing them to a death prison in El Salvador, and a Gestapo Stasi force being unleashed in American cities.

It's not shocking.

Donnie Dipshit, on his most vile day, can't compare to the vile shit Rush Limbaugh and his cookie-cutter AM radio fucksticks said EVERY FUCKING DAY, 24/7/365 for over 50 fucking years.

I know who and what the fuck Donnie Dipshit is, but I'd like some fucking statements and actions from the rich fucking bastards and corporations that fund and enable this vile shit.

Nothing will change! The racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy...NONE OF IT...will change, unless and until we make racism, fascism, misogyny, hatred and white supremacy UNPROFITABLE to the corporations businesses and individuals that fund and enable it.

A lack of outrage would most definitely NOT be a good thing

Calling out each incident is important, as in each there are many individuals that suffered directly as a result of whatever the calamity is that is being dismissed or praised as a good thing.

The current outrage does not dismiss the past predicate harms or the underlying ongoing criminal enterprises that purport such obscenities.

Decrying such outrage does nothing to address the past predicate harms or the ongoing march of fascism through our nation or our world.

Quite the opposite.

Happy Tuesday y'all!!

May you embrace what you love throughout your day!

Second order changes are so extraordinarily rare.

Truly the more things change, the more they tend towards staying the same.

And there's nothing as constant as change.

So for myself, within in each moment I seek to embrace what I love, what I desire, what I value, for it is only within that moment that such an appreciation may exist and those moments are truly the sand in the hourglass of our existence within this realm.

And it is also often within those moments, directly attributable to the fact that I actively love, desire and value that I often experience simultaneous outrage at the onslaught of delusional malevolence perniciously destroying those very things within our fabled freedom-land, now 'wholly guarded' for me and you.

Here's to the forever dissolution of the wholly fascist ongoing criminal enterprise that is the GOP.

May the restoration of reason's rule restore the very freedoms that delusion has destroyed.

We must make sure the country sees Trump for what he is.
Just because we on DU knew this already doesn't mean this won't cause the light bulb to turn on in some less aware people. We need the slow learners to join us, little by little, to turn this ship around.

And, he IS getting worse. This is the progression of unchecked malignant narcissism with dementia thrown in. This is why he will be exposed finally to the whole country. The hope is there are some mechanisms left to take him down when that happens.
If you are human, there is nothing fake about being offended and amazed at the ongoing level of his depravity.

Over those fifty years, rich democrats … businessmen with fortunes… celebrities with fortunes kept their hands in their pockets while the wealthy GOPers bought every radio station and television microphone in the country.

We couldn’t even keep AIR America on the air.
That was a big mistake. Now… with mega media mergers, we may never be able to correct.

The reasoned among us will never desist because each understands that because our freedoms are reason's children, when delusion rules our freedoms cease to exist.

This. Is. That.

Reason never desists.
Reason always resists.

May the return of reason's rule restore the freedoms that are being wrested away on a day to day basis.

People I thought were relatively educated, kind, caring people became entranced with listening to him and then Fox News. In the beginning, because I'm a curious person, I decided to catch one of his shows and right there and then I realized that he was full of shit. I never listened to it again. Same with Fox. Even before Trump I started to distance myself from those people who got hooked.

I think you have to be in tune and aware of what is propaganda, who is behind it and what the propagandists want to gain from it. I am actually in favor of teaching this in schools at about the middle school level, maybe in a Social Studies class. I remember teaching my two kids about advertising very early on and they started looking at TV ads differently and picking them apart.

Excellent rant once again from maxrandb.

Years ago when I was teaching English to middle school students, we always had a unit on propaganda/advertising, etc. Kids loved tearing into ads to see what sort of technique was being used, etc. Gee, I think we were using critical thinking. Our curriculum changed so much as years went on that there was no time left for that one. Mandated curriculum and constantly revolving “programs” to learn took away that sort of autonomy for teachers.

That would mean less dollars in their pockets. When a country judges itself solely by the economy we end up in the shape we are in. We've been sold a bill of goods so to speak about what makes a country superior. There is a happy medium between having enough and being content with what we have and sharing the wealth with those who don't have enough. There's an awful lot of power to be had with we the people if only we all could see that. I would love it if we could adopt more of what countries that have successfully done that, but we've also been told we are the greatest country in the world and I don't believe that to be true.

LBJ once said that if you give someone who's low on the social totem pole someone they can look down on, then they'll gladly empty their pockets for you. Or words to that effect. Divide and Conquer is in chapter one of the corporatist's handbook, and Republicans wrote that damned book.

There once was a pundit so loud,
Who sold outrage in bulk to a crowd.
With a sneer and a shout,
He’d whip fear round about—
Till hate paid the bills he was proud.

For decades the dial spun with bile,
AM crackle, venomous style.
Day and night it would churn,
Teaching anger to earn—
Fifty years of a profitable trial.

They cried “shock!” when the mask slipped at last,
As if history hadn’t broadcast.
If you watched for a beat,
You’d seen hate on repeat—
This ending was baked in the past.

There once was a grifter in orange,
Who treated the cruel as a forage.
Mocked the weak for a laugh,
Played the crowd like a staff—
And called spite “patriotic courage.”

But louder than him, never doubt,
Were the suits who kept cutting the route.
They funded the flame,
Branded hatred as “game,”
Then claimed innocence, cashing it out.

Now racism, fascism, hate—
All thrive on a balance sheet’s weight.
They’ll vanish, you see,
Only when it costs fee—
When bigotry bleeds at the gate.

So spare us the faux-disbelief,
The pearl-clutching, corporate relief.
Nothing changes a thing
Till the money stops to spring,
From cruelty packaged as grief.

There once was a network called Faux,
Where truth went to die nice and slow.
They jacked fear for cash,
Turned bullshit to hash—
And called lies “just opinions,” you know.

For fifty long years on the dial,
AM radio slobbered its bile.
Every fuckstick on air
Sold rage, fear, and despair—
While cashing their checks with a smile.

Don’t act fucking shocked at the mess,
Like you missed all the warning signs, yes?
If you heard one damn show,
You knew how this’d go—
This wasn’t a shock, it was stress.

There once was a fascist buffoon,
Painted orange like a bloated baboon.
He mocked crippled folks,
Fanned hate like a joke—
And the crowd ate that shit with a spoon.

But worse than the loudmouth disgrace
Are the suits with the blood on their face.
They funded the hate,
Called it “market-driven debate,”
Then hid when it burned down the place.

They say, “Oh dear God, how extreme!”
As masked thugs drag folks off the street.
But they paid for the gear,
Bought the fear year by year—
Now they clutch pearls and cry, “Not me!”

Don’t tell me this shit came from nowhere,
Or sprang fully formed from thin air.
It was brewed, aged, and sold,
Strip-mined, packaged, and rolled—
By corporations who knew and didn’t care.

Racism, fascism, hate—
All thrive ‘cause they pay fucking great.
They’ll die, mark my word,
When they’re no longer worth
The profit these assholes create.

So fuck all the faux outrage cries,
And the “thoughts” and the “prayers” and the lies.
Nothing changes a damn
Till the money gets slammed—
And bigotry’s finally bad for those guys.

Hope so , These maga folks just finished firing and admonishing
everyone they could, for even remotely derogatory comments over the murder of one of their hero's . Most of them were still in their usual angry state, saying those who publicly danced on Kirk's grave should be punished and/ or fired . Then Dondo does the very same thing, humm.. soo.. guess he should be fired as well ,according to them oh and him too. Some reporter should ask some of the same repubs that called for Kimmel and others to be fired , who they think should be fired now?

The solution is to demand companies pull their advertisements from Faux "News" and until they do we will boycott them.

Also whenever a business or other TV in public is playing Fox we demand they change the station or use a universal remote or smartphone app with a USB-C IR blaster or smart TV app to change the channel ourselves. If you're alone in a room with a TV you can easily block Fox News by removing it from the channel list or setting up parental control and "forgetting" the code. If you don't have much time just change the station.
