Republicans are STILL going to show Trump how cats bathe each other, REGARDLESS of the OUTRAGE over Rob Reiner

The headlines have been RIDICULOUS.

"OH...THIS time, TRUMP has gone TOO FAR, and REPBLICANS are REACTING!"

"Republicans have had enough!"

"The end is now in sight!"

BULLSHIT. Grampy McRaperson is saying he MUST BUILD HIS BALLROOM for UNDISCLOSED NATIONAL SECURITY REASONS!

He's going to build an ARENA at the WHITE HOUSE for his BIRTHDAY!

He's going to build his version of the bigly yuge ARC DE TRIUMPH!

The ONLY REPUBLICANS I have seen SPEAKING OUT are the ones who were ALREADY speaking out, like MASSIE.

They're all hiding, waiting for this to blow over, so they can resume giving Trump LOVING TONGUE BATHS.

the ones who are now conveniently speaking out against their dear leader, are only doing so to cover their asses, in an effort to save their own seats. If their efforts succeed they will go back to being their true selves, which is his dutiful pyschophants. I am sorry, but in my opinion, anybody who believes the Rs, who are speaking out only now, have suddenly grown consciences are the exact type of people who would fall for one of tsf's fraudulent business schemes.

And what is happening is the media is swooning over some non-existent "THE TIDE IS TURNING" garbage.

The tide is NOT turning, and the reason we have people like MTG jumping ship is because she's feathering her next nest for life after Trump.

if people are jumping ship because they expect there to be a life after Trump?

I'm not going to get excited about this one statement, but it's part of a trend: His malignant narcissim and dementia are getting worse and will continue to get worse. There is no cure and it does progress. Always.

Everyone will have a different line in the sand. Granted, anyone still on board is late. They are also mentally ill themselves as happens to people in the thrall of a malignant narcissist. Think, Jim Jones, Charles Manson, Adolph Hitler. Only a few will have the ability to break the chains and escape. But we don't need all of them. We need enough for there to be a tipping point.

For every defector, others will follow.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's not happening in any kind of significant numbers.

And I think A LOT OF REPUBLICANS are watching people like Greene and Massie and trying to second-guess how much damage Trump is going to do to them before they make their move.

"A few Republicans," for me, does not represent a turning tide. It represents a few Republicans.

I think it will happen in trickles until there are enough to casue a run. Notice what happened with the Epstein vote, once they had that one extra vote for a discharge petition. Suddenly, everyone was on board.

I think there might be a massive surge of Republicans wanting to break ranks once they feel it is safe, or at lease there are enough to actually accomplish something.

The question is, will they get there before it's too late.

For every Republican like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney who signed up for the J6 Committee and saw Trump unleash a bitter vengeance campaign against me, there are 200 Republicans thinking "I can't DO this! What if President Trump SAYS MEAN THINGS ABOUT ME?"

We're talking about cowardice and self-preservation. That's what's at stake.

Which is, of course, impossible. I mean, they might 'feel' that way, but there is no way any of those animals will escape what is coming to them.

AT LEAST, THEY HAD BETTER NOT.

So, what do you think they will do once they realize that part?

I think they're so terrified of losing power that they've all slipped into denial.

They will not give it up without a fight or some insane reaction.

But they might be expecting Trump to cheat. They are intent on backing the winning side, by whatever method that happens.
The key here is convincing them that Trump will fail.

The outrage is not about policies.

It is about, basically, goofy shit that has little to no impact on people’s lives. The ballroom crap is an excellent example. Was it needed or wanted? No. Is it a waste of money? Yes. Does it make us look like fools? Yes. Is it critical in the long term? No. Sure, the waste of money contributes to the long term issue but $300 million is a drop in the bucket.

No, the bigger concern is Project 2025 and the terrorist group that put it together along with other terrorist groups like the Federalist Society and the Cato Institute. The goal of these groups is not just simple changes. The goal is the complete restructuring of the government and political economy of the country through extralegal actions. The Republicans bleating about Trump’s actions over his social media nonsense have not shown that they oppose the policies in any meaningful way collectively.

MAGA. They are bothered by pedophilia, immigration, affordability. Trump's perceived populism/heroism/charisma is critical to them. They don't get the connection of democracy to any of that.

So if Trump is being even more of a jerk than ever, we have to use it. Even MAGAs get that blaming a guy for his own murder is out of line. And they liked Spinal Tap.

It will get worse. We'll be seeing full scale Caligula sooner or later. It's the trajectory of his illness. If we say crassness and cruelty isn't the point, how about democracy, we are missing the point. Trump's decline could be our way out.

Every time he pulls something like this, MAGA office holders from Congress to City Council get closer to thinking that maybe he will be the direct cause of the end of their political career.
Their pathetic need to perpetuate their own little bit of power is what will begin to turn them away until it hits a critical mass and they are collectively in more peril by not repudiating him.
