The murders of Rob Reiner and his wife is bumming me out tonight...

I always loved his acting roles from "Meathead" on "All in the Family" to his role in "Spinal Tap". I also loved his films, "Stand by Me", "When Harry Met Sally" and others. So sad...RIP...

I think it's coming so fast on the heels of the Bondi Beach shootings. It's too damn easy for extreme assholes and losers to end the lives of anyone except the person they probably should (themselves).

I'm not advocating for suicide. I'm just saying that if you're in that level of unbearable pain at the meaninglessness of your life, it's a better step than killing other people who don't deserve it.

I almost watched “When Harry Met Sally” yesterday (Sunday). I hovered over it for 30 seconds and decided to watch another time because my husband was here. I had not thought of that movie (or watched it). I will make time to watch that movie and his other movie, “A Few Good Men”. My first date with my husband was to watch “The Princess Bride”. Very sad..

It is unsettling for lack of a better word. It feels like the earth stopped turning for a few minutes. He'd been a favorite of mine for decades.

Aside from his acting and hit movies, I have admired his advocacy over the years. His movie, "Ghosts of Mississippi", while not a major hit was still a story worth telling that he took on I will not lie, when I first saw that he had been murdered, my thoughts turned to politics. As it stands, it may be more a family issue. In any event, the loss is terrible. We only lost his father just a few years ago. Something I learned or figured out a few years back was that Carl Reiner's series, "The Dick Van Dyke" was autobiographical. So, at least in some way, I imagine that Rob Petrie's son, Richie, was inspired by Rob Reiner. I will miss this man.

Movie director
Social activist
Political activist
Outspoken

His father, Carl Reiner, was so proud of him.

So much more than "Meathead"

Profoundly tragic
