The son of a California radiologist has been identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting of his father and stepmother at their Simi Valley home.

Dr. Eric Cordes, 63, and his wife, Vicki, 66, were shot multiple times in their open garage on Sunday shortly after 12 p.m. local time. The victims were taken to a local hospital and later died of their injuries, the Simi Valley Police Department told ABC News.

Keith Cordes, 37, allegedly shot the couple multiple times before fleeing the scene in a car to the city of Chino, police said. He then reportedly set the car on fire before fatally shooting himself, police said.

The San Bernardino County Medical Examiner's Office was able to confirm the remains in the car set ablaze as Keith Cordes on Tuesday, police said.

I can't even get my head around it. To be murdered is bad enough, but by your own child? It's unimaginable.

I have been watching a lot of body cam videos and the most violent involve family.

The crimes involving victims that are strangers are usually things like stealing or shoplifting.

Family is the first place they look if there's no forced entry or a scuffle

Random publishers, platforms and outlets now declare death AND convict killers in one fell swoop. Very tidy, and all in less than an hour! Huzzah! Brave new world we have in what passes for both media and justice.

The sources might confirm that somebody is being charged, or that authorities believe that X is responsible, but the way this is written is amateur hour.

Before the police announced it. Knowing and announcing are two different things.

ETA - he was arrested hours after the discovery of the bodies, and has now been booked. So, as I said - knowing and saying are two different things.
