There is also some thought that most good candidates on the GOP bench might decide it's best to sit out this cycle, given the headwinds they expect to face. That'll lead to candidates like VR being on tickets and losing races that you wouldn't expect.

(1,219 posts)I also think Tim Ryan was a good fit for the state.
But VR is brown, and this will likely be a worse election cycle for the GOP than 2022. This is also a state election and not federal, so it may be more palatable for Ohioans to elect a democrat.
VR may have shot his chances with his series of dumb tweets not only defending H1 visas but calling Americans dumb. Make it his Mitt Romney video moment.

Amy Acton however is a " come from nothing " success story. She made her way on her own to what she is today.
She has a great chance of winning. I'm seeing and hearing lots of support.
