The watch. I knew nothing about her and watching the movie made me realize that so many women have been unfairly treated and paid less for responsibilities equal to their male counterparts. I worked for local government and started at a clerk or secretary level (later we were upgraded to an assistant position that we fought for). We often made management level decisions. I do believe we were making progress but now with Trump in office, we’re going to lose ground.

She is an amazing woman, and she fought hard and won. She was relentless in her fight for women's rights in the workplace.

And you are right we are losing ground under trump and his regime.

Of course, it continues to a degree. But back then, we were young, and it was "well, that's just the way things are."

to this day Social Security payments are based on a the 35 highest year earnings - so if takes a woman, say, 40 years of lower earnings to make the same amount as a guy did in 35 years, that would not result in equal social security payouts

(note: yes I understand it would work the same if roles were reversed but I'm using the more typical scenario)
