Bloomberg: Pennsylvania's Governor Says Arsonist Set Fire to His Residence

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said his official residence in the state capital was targeted in an arson attack while he and his family were asleep early Sunday morning, forcing them to evacuate.

No one was injured in what state police called a likely “act of arson.” Firefighters responded at about 2 a.m. to the blaze in Harrisburg, which caused significant damage to a portion of the residence, though Shapiro and his family were in a different part of it, state police said in a statement.

“Last night at about 2AM, my family and I woke up to bangs on the door from the Pennsylvania State Police after an arsonist set fire to the Governor’s Residence in Harrisburg,” Shapiro said on X.

The suspected attack occurred on the first day of Passover. Around supper time the previous day, Shapiro, who is Jewish, posted an image of a dinner table set for the traditional Passover meal, or seder. State police said the fire is under investigation.

I expect to see anti-Jewish hate crimes this week. Trump has normalized them.

THe fire was set at the back side of the building, however which likely doesn't have police stationed there all the time. There are definitely security cameras there. Whether the arsonist evaded the cameras is unknown at this point. The police have released very little information so I have a feeling they already have a good lead on who did this.

they didn't mention it in the articles referenced. I was just calling attention to that. Normally they would seek help from the public by releasing security cam stills or footage. I was surprised to not see any. The first articles also didn't mention that he was followed onto the property by security/police.

It’s the “anniversary” of The Last Supper, you morans (sic and sick).

Whoever did this should have his nuts toasted on State Street.
