You would think a guy who had lived in the midst of the entertainment industry as long as Maher has would be cannier about dealing with narcissists than he apparently is. I knew Maher's critical thought capacities were compromised to a degree by some of the things he has said in the past, but I had no idea.

trump is DEEPLY insecure and knows how to turn on the charm and conduct himself in one on one meetings. It doesn't matter what he does when pandering to you privately if his public actions are harming people. I guess Maher is now too old and senile / narcissistic to realize that. trump's reckless actions will kill millions of people.

Also, the contempt that maher now shows towards the people who supported him for decades is really unfortunate. When maga-teaparty types canceled him after 911, who had his back?

I gave up on his show years ago, but I truly hope he's playing 10-d chess here. A way to force his way into the circle of clowns that trump depends on for advice. I will admit that maher's advice would be a whole lot better than bannon or loomer's.
