I would imagine Maher thinks Hitler or Putin are also examples of "effective politicians" because, like Trump, they were elected. Grievance, othering, and authoritarian strongarming has always been effective. His desire to kiss Trump's ass shows Maher for the phony weakling and political dilettante he's always been.

He was somewhat funny 30 years ago, in a Wednesday night at a 100 person, 2-drink minimum Comedy Club kinda' way. Today, he suffers from delusions of adequacy.

I’m not saying that Gretchen Whitmer went and kissed Trumps ass but she did appeal to him because she’s concerned about Michigan and the auto industry and he went on and on about how great she was - that was a little creepy. It’s like he’s saying “See - all of you Democrats should come and kiss the ring.” Watch her or Michigan get rewarded.

More "effective" than Jim Jones.
