Weâre following reports of a helicopter crash in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey. At this time, based on ADS-B data and the location of SAR activity, we believe the aircraft involved to be N216MH, a Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV.

Accident was at approx 19:15z. Final reported vertical speed via ADS-B was -8,000fpm

Some say on Bluesky, on the flight radar post, that a tourist helicopter crashed above the Holland Tunnel at a ventilation shaft near Jersey.
Six people confirmed dead.
The water temperature was fifty.

(15,980 posts)Bell 206 Jet Ranger. Pilots I knew said the rotors on the 206 were held on with the Jesus Nut. Lose one bolt and the rotors fly off making the ship a rock.
