From ABC News:

At least three people were killed when a helicopter crashed in the Hudson River by Lower Manhattan in New York City on Thursday afternoon, law enforcement sources told ABC News.

All are deceased.

We’re following reports of a helicopter crash in the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey. At this time, based on ADS-B data and the location of SAR activity, we believe the aircraft involved to be N216MH, a Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV.

Some say on Bluesky, on the flight radar post, that a tourist helicopter crashed above the Holland Tunnel at a ventilation shaft near Jersey.

Six people confirmed dead.

The water temperature was fifty.

I posted in comments and updated here.

This video shows a close-up view.

It's very possible one of the 2 main rotors detached and hit the tail boom. Liberal In Texas Apr 2025 #12

Bell 206 Jet Ranger. Pilots I knew said the rotors on the 206 were held on with the Jesus Nut. Lose one bolt and the rotors fly off making the ship a rock.

When that happens (called bumping) it will take off the tail and the tail rotor.

Terrible accident.

If it comes off then the people on the helicopter meet Jesus.
