Like clockwork. Direct deposit to regular bank. Only SS, not disability or SSI. Plain vanilla, and below average. I think that's all I'll ever get, because I don't think COLA will apply anymore. But, it's enough that I can't afford to lose it. So, I am breathing a sigh of relief today. I guess I'll be sweating it from here on in. A new way of life. And, musk wonders why we hate him and his phony DOGE thugs. I hope Tesla croaks everywhere in the world. ETTD. Good luck, Elon. Hope you lose millions.

(217 posts)news. I'm just a couple months behind you and am looking forward to not having to deal with the daily grind of the office, yet with some trepidation, because of Trump, Musk and the GOP.
Good luck and peace of mind to you.

(7,438 posts)I'm kinda sweating until that happens. They haven't taken that small COLA back that we got at the first of the year, have they?
Congrats on getting it on time! I hope we all experience the same, but you're right... this is now the "new normal" for us retirees. Damn them all to hell, in the immortal words of Charlton Heston.

COLA has been there since January. Mine has always been around $50. I have learned to appreciate this, but I think it will soon represent about 5 cups of coffee. If we can still get coffee. I will miss it if they decide to not award it next year. Who knows how it will go.
I am very curious how people are receiving payments on days other than Wednesday. April 13th is a Sunday. Do you mean the 16th? It's none of my business, but if you are expecting it on a Sunday, well, I wouldn't want you to have a heart attack. I know they did something wonky with the end of the month and also the first, but most everyone receives their payment (and it is our money!) on one of the Wednesdays. For instance, mine is the second Wednesday of any month, and I have been able to see it shortly after midnight. You better believe I'm there checking it promptly.
Take it easy! There's a pathway, and we will find it.

(7,438 posts)I've always counted on the date. Maybe because I keep track of it in my CU account, and it always gets reported as "pending" on such and such a date. Doesn't make any difference what day that date falls on. If it's a Sunday, I know it'll either be deposited on the Friday before or the Monday afterwards.
Mine came in yesterday... a whole week earlier than expected. I'm totally feeling discombobulated now. Had it down to where I knew what to pay when, but if they can pay me a whole week earlier this month, what's to stop it from being a whole week (or more) later next month or the month after that? Kinda makes planning really hard to do, ya know!
