Russian President Vladimir Putin said President Trump’s desire to take Greenland has nothing to do with the Kremlin, The Hill reports.

Putin also claimed that the United States’s plan to purchase the Arctic territory has “long historical roots” dating back to World War II.

Some speculated that the "we" in "we have to have Greenland" is the USA and Russia. For sure the US bullying it's way into annexing Greenland would give Putin carte blanche to attack Ukraine again or the Baltic States or Poland. Putin came out and denied they wanted the US to annex Greenland (for benefit to Russia) pretty damn fast. He doesn't deny much of what is speculated on on the internet. Why the quick turn around on denying this issue?
