I am not sure why the trumpies made this announcement and exactly what the Doge muskrats are going to do here. Why is Doge reviewing this matter? Does anyone care what Musk or his muskrats think on this issue ?

In his interview with Fox News Tuesday night, National Security Adviser Mike Waltz alluded to Musk's involvement, saying, "I just talked to Elon on the way here -- we have the best technical minds looking at how this happened."
The White House official confirmed to ABC News that DOGE is involved and that the team is working with other teams to make communications "more secure and efficient."
Additionally, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Fox News Tuesday evening that "Elon Musk's team of experts is looking at this, and the National Security Council is all digging into this matter to ensure this could never happen again."

I'm not an expert on encrypted/secure communications, but my first thought would be don't use 3rd party platforms that you downloaded on the app store for discussing Top Secret and/or compartmentalized information.

I'm going with leaker given who it was accidently sent to.

Or does he just has script-kiddies and hack coders for hire and call them experts?

(7,708 posts)I'm less than impressed with them. They didn't know about COBOL. Maybe they're good at being gamers, but not at government stuff. It seems like whatever mistakes they make don't matter, because they are here to destroy our government, anyway.
So, how does President Musk punish the offending act involving ALL of that committee? My guess is they declare it "inconsequential," or just never quite get to the bottom of it. In any event, we see who is really in charge. I think trump is 25A material now. I would rather deal with Vance sending his wife to pressure Greenland than with trump.

“The National Security Council, the White House Counsel’s Office, and also yes, Elon Musk’s team,” press secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters when asked who was leading an investigation into the Signal mishap.
“Elon Musk has offered to put his technical experts on this to figure out how this number was inadvertently added to the chat, again to take responsibility and ensure this can never happen again,” she added.
National security adviser Mike Waltz, who apparently added The Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg into the chat, told Fox News on Tuesday night that he spoke with Musk and said his “best technical minds” are looking into how Goldberg’s number got into his phone.
Musk, who is a top adviser to Trump, has been tasked with finding waste and abuse in the federal government and DOGE has been behind overhauls and staff cuts at various agencies.
The Tesla CEO wore a shirt that said “tech support” to a Cabinet meeting last month and wore the same title on his shirt for a meeting with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill earlier this month.
