After reading through some websites, I've decided I am principally a skeptic (I previously thought I was more of a cynic, but that really doesn't fit the definition of my belief system).
This is an interesting read on the topic - https://join1440.com/newsliteracy/cynical-vs-skeptical-whats-the-difference
Dictionary definitions
cynic - a person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest rather than acting for honorable or unselfish reasons.
skeptic - a person inclined to question or doubt accepted opinions.
nihilist - a person who believes that life is meaningless and rejects all religious and moral principles.
Clearly there has to be some flexibility - so I am generally skeptical - but when it comes to right wing politicians in general, I float to the cynical category.
But I do try overall to be an optimist (believe it or not!)

Growing kale, mustard greens, arugala and a few cold tolerant herbs in my little greenhouse for over winter fresh greens.
