A friend in LA volunteered today at Community centers and says they are in urgent need of baby things, gift cards, underwear, and personal items . They are good with clothes right now. Need cash for urgent items so donate to help working class folks in LA.

(15,058 posts)1. Let's get more specific. I found these lists that look really good.
https://www.rd.com/article/los-angeles-wildfires-how-to-help/
https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/how-to-help-victims-los-angeles-wildfires-rcna187274
https://laist.com/news/climate-environment/how-to-help-la-fire-victims
LAist has requests that are more local than the others, it seems, like volunteering and dropping off goods, so it might be useful for SoCal residents in those respects, but
ALL OF THE ONES LISTED ABOVE LOOK GOOD TO ME.
Comments welcome.

The following charities have been vetted by NBC News:
California Community Foundation
California Fire Foundation
L.A. Fire Department Foundation
Pasadena Humane Society
Ventura County Community Foundation
American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles
Center for Disaster Philanthropy
Direct Relief
World Central Kitchen
Update: added NBC links here.
Do scan the others for charities you might like to support.
These were nicely grouped.
