'The rise of Adolf Hitler and the parallels with U.S. politics today'

https://www.tpr.org/podcast/the-source/2024-11-01/the-rise-of-adolf-hitler-and-the-parallels-with-u-s-politics-today by David Martin Davies, Kayla Padilla

'Timothy Ryback is author of the new book [Takeover: Hitler’s Final Rise to Power....Ryback also draws parallels between Hitler and former President Donald Trump: both tried to overturn a presidential election, and both promoted hateful rhetoric against immigrants, among other similarities....Trump once said, “I need the kind of generals that Hitler had.”....Ryback also makes comparisons between U.S. politics and the Weimar Republic of 1932, including polarization in the press, gun violence, and fistfights...'

My words: I think many of us have seen the parellels between Trump and Hitler for awhile now. It's no secret Trump admires dictators. The fact that he kept a book of Hitler's speeches by his bed-side is well-known. I think it's safe to say, he plans to become America's first dictatorial President. The time of reckoning is here. Each American has a choice to make. I hope we find the strength and courage, each in our own way, to RESIST.

Further, late 20’s early 30’s Germany was a mess. Many traded democracy for stability, much the way Putin came to power.

Here in Dipshitistan, on the other hand, things are pretty good. Opportunities for those with the least need to be addressed, along with housing costs, healthcare. But in general, a firm foundation to build on.

However, enough of Dipshitistan bought into the contrived ‘crises’ and voted in those who have been rigging the game against then for years.

Even Dipshits, though, once they realize they have been conned, are going to be pissed off. Because even Dipshits eventually figure out 2+2 is a lot less than big beautiful millions.

And that’s when it gets real . .
