Reading the PA election and cozying up to MAGA for his own re-election? Keeping an open mind? If he reverses again it could appear Trump is losing any hope of bipartisan support. It's too early to tell. Something not quite genuine about it.

I don't even know how many of the GOP support it, mainly because it seems fringe and won't happen. (So I take it as crazy blabbering from Trump)

delicate subject. Having just lived through the Kyrsten Sinema nightmare, I am worried but not yet freaking out. Some folks from PA here on DU, or who have otherwise followed his career closely, are expressing concern about a personality change following his stroke. Because they have followed him so closely, I give their opinions great weight.

But I also agree he is not stupid. He must be getting feedback from people so he has to know that his recent behavior is creating tremendous anxiety among people who believe in him.

But I am really unsettled about him. I guess the test will be how he votes (although, that is not the whole test) and whether or not he attempts to obstruct Democratic attempts to curtail Trump's most destructive instincts.

I’m trying to understand Fetterman and it seems like he might just an opportunist without principles. I’ll see how he votes before I completely condemn him. So I agree with poster #3.
There’s nothing inherently wrong in working with the cards you are dealt, and drumpf will be the president in a few days.

Read Timothy Snyder book on tyranny. One of the first things that happen as democracy falls is oligarchs support the dictator in advance. This has already happened. Next, weak opposition try to kiss the dictator. Fetterman is doing exactly that. This also means he has no conviction or backbone. He says he is here to serve PA and that includes MAGAs. Well, is he saying he will rather side with a tyrant MAGA in PA who votes to destroy democracy rather than fighting for democracy? He is saying that. This is a warning. Fetterman will also become a laughing stock. Dems wong trust him and come elections, MAGAs will support a MAGA. This is Manchin 2.0. I am waiting to see which Dem has the guts to fight Trump. No, you cannot support parts of a dictator's agenda if you love the country and democracy. If is your job to make sure dictatorship fails, Trump fails.

The total opposite of a principled man like Jimmy Carter. He has stuck his finger in the wind and decided it's better to cozy up to fascists in order to retain his seat. Neville Chamberlain learned appeasement is not the answer.

It's possible he was lying to get elected. It's hard to say.
