Why did Carter's family allow Trump to desecrate Jimmy's funeral? And how can Obama sit next to him and laugh?

I don't get it. It's probably just me, but I think it's deplorable that the criminal, traitorous dictator was allowed to attend the funeral. And I can't imagine being Barack Obama and sitting next to the neo-Nazi madman and laughing it up. What the hell is going on?

It sickens me to see any decent human being having anything to do with the orange pile of scum who's about to be given the keys to the country again. Playing nice with dictators and oligarachs has never worked, and this one is among the worst. That picture of Neville Chamberlain shaking hands with Hitler has aged well . . .

Decent people everywhere should shun the sexual deviant and felon at every turn. It will be another national disgrace, IMHO, if any Democrat shows up on Jan. 20 at the same spot where, about four years ago, he tried to overthrow the US government. How any Democrat, how any decent person could watch that farce and pretend it's all OK is way, way, way beyond me. I couldn't do it. I wouldn't do it. And shame on any Democrat who does.

That's one possible reason. I would not be surprised if everyone over the age of 18 pre-medicated in one way or another just to tolerate Trump's presence.

One just sort of looks upon them as though in an out-of-body experience as the true moron they are. Maybe a few real-time fantasies about what awaits him sooner than later.

he would have had to approve the inclusion of Trump.

Why? 1. Because it was expected per tradition; and 2. because Pres. Jimmy Carter was "better" than most of us and tried to set a "higher" example.

As I said, these State Funeral plans are reviewed every three months, and the official part falls to the Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, a division of the Military District of Washington and is carried out at taxpayer expense. That doesn't leave a lot of wiggle room. You might say, well, remember McCain's funeral... Well, his was not a Presidential State funeral, so the rules are different...

From VetWife at Daily Kos

I watched the Carter Funeral and this one was very sad but GW Bush and Bill Clinton and Hillary and Laura dissed Trump in a way that was described in the way to treat him in a diary I wrote yesterday. ( Glad they felt the same way as I did). Ha….Hillary looked angry having to be in the same room with him and Bush looked almost as frustrated. I thought it was magnificent that Bush had to walk past him and shake everyone else’s hand and just ignore Trump.

Upon second look, it appears the Carter family paid no greeting as well.

See clip here

This is the way it is done - ignore him!

Karen Pence, too. Way to go, Mother!

Could not help but laugh as trump non stop flapped his facial anus, while his neck Labia flapped like a flag on a ship. Sitting right next to that has to be hilarious (Hillary-arious) to see. And deep in those neck crevices, the pure Snow White meat is highlighted by the dark orange paint on the outer layers. There May even be some MickyD sesame seeds stuck down in there.
Who would not laugh????

Of course he had to be there. So were the Clintons, so were the Bushes, so was Obama, so were the Bidens. So were the various VPs, at least what I saw (I don't know if the Cheneys were there). It is simply protocol and common decency to invite the current and former presidents, the current and former VPs, and their spouses to the funeral of a president of the U.S.

I don't like Trump, either, but c'mon. He and Melania had to be there. They didn't create any scene.

out of consideration for decorum, and a different thing to be yucking it up with a want to be dictator who wants to destroy everything good about this country. Who by the way is the polar opposite of everything the man they were there to remember stood for.

Others can feel how they want to, and though I am sure nobody gives a crap about what I think, I have to admit I feel disappointed in Obama today.

Didn’t you hear person after person say he was kind and decent and had dignity that extended to all? Didn’t you hear them play “Imagine”?

We can rave and snark and get our jollies insulting someone we fear will cause even more harm than he has, and it’s understandable, but it’s not the best of our natures. Jimmy had something that’s hard to have, and his funeral rightly honored that.
