Jimmy Carter's memorial service was one of the most uplifting things I've seen in years.

It was a celebration of goodness --a reminder that true goodness does, and can exist. All we have to do it to live it daily in our lives and dealings with others. Joe Biden will be remembered similarly.

We haven't heard much about the goodness in people lately. I hope that this will rekindle a commitment to kindness and caring in those who were touched by this truly enlightened man.

Trump had an opportunity to see how a truly great President is honored, and to contemplate on his own remembrance in the not-too-distant future.

He has little ability to be self-reflective, and slept through a lot of the most profound eulogies. But maybe, just maybe, a small spark of desire to remembered as a good man penetrated his empty soul today.

..human being. I was especially
moved by Jason Carter and Andrew
Young. "Imagine" was beautifully rendered by Garth Brooks and
Trisha Yearwood...but some people are just too small and damaged to be lifted up.
Borowitz reports that what Jimmy
Carter likes best about Heaven, besides of course being reunited with Rosylyn, is the certainty of never seeing Trump, or hearing mention of him for all eternity.

He will be stuck with the likes of kid rock and Hulk Hogan as speakers at his service.
He’s made his bed, now he has to sleep in it.

Something I needed at this moment in time.

I especially loved the eulogy delivered by his grandson, Jason.

As for Trump, he'll probably record his own eulogy to be played at this service. No one could capture his life quite like he could.

The Carters were authentic before authenticity was a thing.

At one point during’s Jason’s eulogy the camera cut to Amy and she was fighting tears. And then so was I.

I don't think there are many other politicians I can say that about. As we are seeing (even from Democrats), most are swaying in whatever way the wind blows in order to save their political lives.

Some are far too calculating, to the extent that I have no idea what they actually believe. Not gonna name names but they are on both sides of the aisle. It's no so obvious when things are going well, but now that the worst person in the world has been elected, we are seeing true colors all over the political spectrum.
