"religion," not spirituality in general. At least that is how I've always interpreted it--which goes along with imagining a world without "abuse of power..."

Jesus would have been anti-capitalist, anti-greed. Whether or not any of us are Christian scholars, the fact that the RW fundamentalists have written the New Testament and Jesus-- in full-- OUT OF ANY DISCUSSIONS of Christianity would lead you to believe otherwise, I suppose.

While I can scarcely claim the same (beyond a few years in childhood bible school), Jimmy Carter lived and breathed the bible especially focusing on the New Testament as expected for a "true and sincere believer." He knew what Lennon was saying...

Also, all the songs were chosen by Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter when they planned this funeral ages ago (this was mentioned by someone on PBS), so it must have just been a favorite.

7. I have always thought of it as being more anti-doctrinal than anti-theistic..my view as an agnostic/buddhist/zen baptist
