Fuck Facebook

I've spent half an hour trying to delete and deactivate my account. Their instructions are incorrect and their instructions indicate tabs that don't exist.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, in advance.

Also, it used to be that, if you log back in within 90 days, the account is restored. n/t John1956PA Jan 8 #3

Before deleting your account.

Purge everything

Delete all your posts.

Unfollow all pages and
Delete friends.

Delete all photos, cartoons, etc.

They still will have an archive, but clean it up.

Then wait a day and double check.

Then ….

To permanently delete your Facebook account, you can do the following:
Click your profile picture in the top right of Facebook
Select Settings & privacy, then click Settings
Click Your Facebook Information
Click Deactivation and Deletion
Choose Delete Account, then click Continue to account deletion
Click Delete Account, enter your password, and then click Continue

why is it necessary to delete, etc, all your old stuff?

Why not just go?

if you don’t actually delete all your content and just deactivate your account, everything in that deactivated account is held on the fakebook servers forever.

I’ll add, you cannot delete your cover photo and avatar image. So if you have family or something sensitive that you’d rather not let Zuckerberg have, change those photos to something else first.
