Chilling parallels between Trump and Putin.

Putin is just a few steps further down the path that Trump wants to take. In the past week or so, we have seen Trump declaring his intent to invade sovereign countries with the claim it's for our security ( Putin's argument vs Ukraine and Nato).

He is also threatening oligarchs here to get them to follow his bidding ( Zuckerberg surrendering to Trump with Bezos and Musk already in that camp.). Again that's how Putin operates in Russia.

Of course he is also threatening the free press who pretty much has fallen in line, Fox News is the equivalent of RT, the media arm of the party.

My hope is that Europe pushes back strongly. The US may have the better army but the economic power of EU is comparable to the US.

I am not sure we would end up in a military conflict with Canada or Denmark, surely there are enough people here who would stop the madness.

Luckily Trump probably doesn't have that much time alive to do it the same way.

Unluckily, he probably won't have to do it the same way.

..Hitler. I don't know about the oligarch aspect but Hitler wanted to take possession of the world.

All the crazy sh!t coming out of Trump's mouth is distraction. He's decided all the campaign promises he made with reducing the price of rice and deporting 10 million immigrants ain't gonna' happen so he's up to his usual tactics of keeping everybody off balance with outlandish, outrageous comments that are Earth 2 fantasy. And he suspects Congress is not going to give him the blind loyalty he was expecting.

Over on X, all the MAGA crowd is trying to rewrite history, reviving the 2020 election, blaming Pelosi for the Jan 6 insurrection, Ashli Babbitt's death...spinning the same stuff that was spun 4 years ago.

And he ain't even president yet.

The use of propaganda is another disturbing parallel. Of course Russians have been brainwashed by government propaganda for a century starting with the commies, and former commie Pootin knew its value and kept it up after the Soviet collapse.

Hopefully the U.S. has enough history of independent media with integrity committed to the truth to overcome the ridiculous propaganda bubble of lies TSF, Faux, and the MAGAt cult have been trying to create.
