For a 135 minute flight from Washington to Chicago, that was supposed to depart at 7:30 AM, I have been delayed and delayed, spent 6 hours at National Airport waiting for a flight that was pushed back and pushed back, and then canceled after over 5 hours waiting at the airport. Then an expensive transfer ays.over to Dulles Airport out in Reston for a 10:35 PM flight to Chicago which will leave two hours late—if we are lucky. So I will arrive 18 hours late in Chicago, get 4.5 hours sleep, and have to be in Orlando by 10:00 PM tomorrow night. Most days, I never envy people with desk jobs. Today was not one of those days.

I actually got most everything done today in Chicago that I wanted to, and made the evening flight to Florida, which actually got here before midnight. The guy who drove me to the hotel was VERY relieved that I spoke Spanish. He was from Venezuela, and hadn't been here long, it turns out. He could even tell I was from Spain!

OK, I'm originally from Virginia, but hey, they're both in the Northern Hemisphere. Close enough.
