Hear is something to contemplate:

Our 200+ year old democratic Republic did not die under the first black President. But it will surely be killed by white, conservative, fascist oligarchs led by a lying, corrupt, barely literate, felon.

This is how an honest portrayal of American history should be crafted.

2. Not quite ready to say "killed," but certainly damaged. Definitely history should not coddle white wingers.

3. Damaged for sure. But I recently was encouraged by this piece that Robert Reich shared.

It was by Asli Aydintasbas, a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington D.C., and a former journalist, who published a short essay recently in Politico Magazine. She is Turkish and had lessons for us from her experience under Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's regime. She had a number of observations about our situation in America that were very encouraging.

8. But as losing rebels, we'd be missing important rights.

They’d confiscate all the rifles and ban guns in the “colonies”

We’d have odd place names like New England, Dorchester, Gloucester, New London … Oh, the horror.

England has some of the weirdest place names. You often wonder, where the heck did that come from? What is the meaning of this? Fun to think about, but not easy getting directions.

13. I have found many, many English place names in Mass and CA.

I knew there was a list, and Wikipedia notes: "This list is incomplete".

Bewildering!

MA is loaded!

Does GB have more or fewer?

17. IIRC, gun control laws were passed in the US chiefly when the Black Panthers armed up and advised others to do likewise.

Rebels won and blessed the tools of rebellion, even if they did so through ambiguous wording.

America will not be killed off in the next 4 years. Saying so is just irresponsible.

A democracy is all inclusive of its people. That's not the promise we are now given. Remember, on Day One he plans to deport anyone he doesn't like--a good many of us. That's not Democracy. If you are White, Male, and Christian, that may well survive. But the rest of us will be oppressed.

Don't be so quick to proclaim that OP is irresponsible. Speaking up against this possibility--which he has publicly announced in so many aspects of our culture--is exactly what is needed. Getting us to shut up is a goal of P25, because when opinions are heard, their power diminishes.

Power to the People! Old but effective.

Because in 2025, I plan to voice any objection I have at any time I choose to, in defense of innocent people, and against this embarrassing, mean, vile, ignorant dictator and his equally vile minions. So, you'll have to do better than that.

I normally skip on by those but today I guess was your lucky day.

Have a nice day.

P.S. "I plan to voice any objection I have at any time I choose to, in defense of innocent people". I would hope everyone here would do that. The rest of it though is just well, hyperbole.
