But it is not for the sex with you, instead to keep your mouth shut?
That is what the million dollar question is! Why did he have to send money to these many many many young ladies?

So if some hottie does me something nice, and i feel warmly and offer her my financial thanks, is that a crime?
How is that different than me, say, not investigating republican pols high up in the t1 admin, and then receiving lucrative speaking engagements and jobs for family after retiring from the doj?

(17,361 posts)It's so difficult to prove motive. There are people who give money selflessly, with no expectation of anything in return, but I am doubting that Matt Gaetz is one of those people.
Sometimes when money changes hands, there is a tacit understanding of what it is for, even if words are not exchanged. But we're talking about low I.Q. Matt Gaetz, so I am certain he was quite blunt and brazen. The money was for sex, or drugs, or it to keep someone's mouth shut. I am comfortable guessing that he actually said (or texted) those words: "Do us both a favor and keep it quiet, keep it just between us."
