Trump transition team plans immediate WHO withdrawal, expert says

Well, that once in a hundred years pandemic is in our rearview mirror. Don't have to worry about another one for a hundred years. Trump prolly.

Members of Donald Trump's presidential transition team are laying the groundwork for the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization on the first day of his second term, according to a health law expert familiar with the discussions.

Here's one scenario to chew on, however. It's hypothetical right now, but I think it's plausible. What happens if the bird flu makes the full jump to humans and becomes easily transmissible? Things are already looking scary in farm country with cases which appear to be increasing. And you know that if we get a bird flu pandemic, Trump and his cronies will be at least as incompetent as they were during Covid. I just can't wait for Trump's whiny press conferences, where he complains about his ratings and the "fake news" while half the country is dying. Can you?

Trump did absolutely everything wrong about Covid, including concealing information (which he had obtained through intelligence briefings) about its lethality. Then when he contracted Covid through his own stupidity--probably at one of his idiotic rallies---he got absolutely heroic measures which saved his life...

It has easily jumped into cattle, and now it's infecting raw milk. Pasteurization kills it. It has managed to kill cats that drank, raw milk, I guess. I think I read it also killed a tiger. So, I'd say that the raw milk industry is kaput. I'm waiting to hear if you can get it by eating the meat of infected cattle. The point of it all seems to be that it is spreading fairly rapidly. Humans have died from it. How did dairy workers get it? How did they contract it when they probably weren't drinking the milk?

The point of having a presumably holistic national health program is prevention. Yet they seem to think that just because something is nonexistant or manageable now that everything is peachy. They are incredibly ignorant. Thanks, Trump Voters! Here's hoping you or your loved ones don't contract Bird Flu, 'cause I heard it is worse than Covid. But, you wanted the vile, yellow-haired pervert as your idol! Good luck with that!

The far right has embraced it as a form of counterculture now, after they lost their minds during COVID.

by the utter stupidity of grown adults who think that nothing will ever touch them or their loved ones. It's magical thinking. These people are our leaders, for gawd's sake! Please make them go away! Why does President Musk, the world's richest man, think that he can afford to let millions of his customers just die? Quite frankly, how did this man manage to gain his riches when he thinks this way?

Plus, we are already having outbreaks due to idiots who don’t vaccinate their children or themselves from viruses/ diseases that were pretty much wiped out. Once the wackos take charge and stop developing new vaccines, stop requiring any vaccines, and endorse non-vaccination. Even older vaccines could be banned as being not safe. And may not be available so try to get a booster for everything now if you can. It will be a shit show..

There are about 70 million international trips of foreigners into the US each year, and about 100 million international trips of US citizens ifrom the US each year

That's a lot of opportunities to bring us existing pandemics

The WHO Surgical Safety Checklist was developed after extensive consultation aiming to decrease errors and adverse events, and increase teamwork and communication in surgery. The 19-item checklist has gone on to show significant reduction in both morbidity and mortality and is now used by a majority of surgical providers around the world.

Remember he ignored the pandemic playbook, dismantled our pandemic response teams, brought American teams home from other countries, including China. And his rationale was... oh we can catch up very quickly if something happens.

This STUPID FUCK is going to kill millions of people all over again. The world actually relies on the United States to keep everyone safe. Maybe it's not fair, but that's just the way it's been. Disengaging puts everyone in danger.

And vote in solid blue majorities. At least Manchin and Sinema will be gone and can’t torpedo us.
I predict a third impeachment as well as removal this next time.
It’s going to be a rough two years. That’s for sure.
