Harvard's Fiercest Foes Are Gaining Power and Vowing Punishment

In the days after Kamala Harris lost all seven swing states, the popular vote and the 2024 presidential election, Harry Lewis was disappointed to read that some Harvard teachers offered condolences to students and told them classes were optional.

One physics professor “stress-baked” lemon bars to ease the pain of Donald Trump’s victory, according to the Harvard Crimson.

To Lewis, a computer science professor and former dean of Harvard College who’s been teaching at the school for 50 years, the episode pointed to a deeper problem: the infantilization of students and politicization of the classroom.

“We’ve allowed significant numbers of faculty to think the way that they are going to change the world is through some kind of social activism and that this is part of their responsibilities or opportunity as a scholar,” he said in an interview.

Authoritarian as President. It might have been inappropriate to be partisan in that way, but it in no way indicates infantilization of students.

He may have taught Zuckerberg computer science or programming, but that is neutral, like mathematics.

If you really thought about it, you would research and find out who taught him business practices and (lack of) business ethics. But I doubt you will. It's easier to stay angry at surface appearances and not get to real causes, isn't it.
