(7,208 posts)Removing anti-deepfake porn laws? Wow, who wants freedom to create fake porn videos of Sarah Palin or other Republicans heartthrobs? Or who owns a media company with a platform overrun with deplorables who create deep-fake porn videos of their opponents for a zillion stupid reasons?
Welcome to xxx X(formerly Twitter). Is he a terrible media mongrel or just a pervert? Or both?

(51,252 posts)Porn, soft or hard, attracts eyeballs all on its own.
Deep fakes create controversies which attract eyeballs.
Deep fake porn makes a synergistic effect greater than just the sum of eyeballs, it makes viral quantities of eyeballs if the deep fake is cheesy soft porn or cheesecake.
Musk runs a site that has lost probably more than half its eyeballs. He promised a lot of things to the money bags who invested in him to buy Twitter.

(17,378 posts)Sure, we all expected the worst, but Elon Musk editing one of the most important bits of legislation, right off the bat, deciding who lives and dies... Holding forth with 48 hour tweeting sessions? No doubt blasted up on drugs of some kind? It's beyond your average nightmare and some ways down into the abyss.

(51,252 posts)magas will tell you about Covid-19 that:
1) There was no virus, there was only the flu and cold.
2) There were no deaths, only from maltreatment with ventilators.
3) The super deadly virus was a weapon made in a Chinese lab and released to ensure the US got infected.
4) The vaccine killed more people than the virus which wasn't too deadly.
5) The vaccine didn't work. Not only unsafe but ineffective.
6) We don't need to prepare. There's nothing we can do and the military will defeat China anyway because America is great again. So no more viruses (that didn't exist anyway).
That's the maga belief structure on Covid.
But one does have to wonder about Musk's belief structure about workers. If he and his oligarchs need workers so much that his mother wants abortion bans to raise the birthrate so women can be patriotic and produce baby workers, ... then why kill them off in droves by being unprepared? Unless it is a convenience, believing robots will do everything so let the dying begin?

(51,252 posts)They think they are strong, though more overweight than non-maga.
They think Covid was more a city problem and they think it is better that the urban/rural population balance swing rural, never having been told that Covid was actually more deadly in red states and areas.
They discount the virality and the deadliness of Covid.
They think: "why waste money on something that won't hurt me". They forget the impact on supply chains and the economy.
