Where's James Bond when you need him?

(584 posts)Trump is a unique sort of villain. He's so stupid on the face of it, but able to manipulate his crowds.
Many people fall in line behind Trump because they are afraid of what his supporters will do to them.

(173 posts)is Auric Goldfinger. Although, he never aspired to public office. He just wanted to hold the U.S. gold irradiate the U.S. gold depository.

(23,006 posts)The scriptwriters realized the absurdity of transporting the massive weight of the gold so they decided to set off a nuclear device. This was a kind of stupid idea because the explosion would not have irradiated the American gold. It would have incinerated it! The bomb was in the repository right next to the gold. The entire building and a few hundred yards around Fort Knox would have been annihilated in an atomic blast so the film's idea is also flawed.
Trump is not a mastermind. He's a cult leader.
He's also an idiot but that doesn't seem to matter.

(173 posts)I read the novel when I was in high school
about a hundred years ago. In the movie what
really held my attention was the Aston Martin.
Couldn't wait for Bond to use the ejection seat.
Also totally agree with your assessment of Trump.

Notice that Bond's villains were always agents or the heads of adversarial entities, be it national or private. Bond was always outnumbered by bad guys, but never to the tune of 76 million to one.
