What is wrong with Ellon Musk, a one time admirer wants to know!
Why is he even considering cutting Social Security and Medicare, etc.?
Doesnt he know the harm that would do? More Seniors would have to choose between eating and heating their homes. More Seniors would have to forego medical treatments and taking prescriptions. More Seniors would become homeless or pass thru the final barrier earlier (die).
Doesnt he know the value Seniors provide to our Society?

He's a spoiled ass Apartheid Nepobaby.
When the world's richest man buys the presidency
In 1935, President Franklin Roosevelt created social security, an insurance contract between Americans and the federal government that pays out on certain life events. As a financial safety net, social security protects Americans from what Roosevelt called the hazards and vicissitudes of life.
Roosevelts plan has been vital to the American people, and has delivered payments on time, for generations. Today, 180 million employees are paying in, and 87 million people are receiving retirement and disability benefits under the program.
Due to fluctuating demographics and other factors, payouts under Social Security now exceed pay-ins, and most analysts agree adjustments are needed to keep the program afloat. With the help of Elon Musk, Republican lawmakers, who will soon hold majorities in the House and Senate, will try to cut guaranteed benefits instead of increasing the programs revenue.
When billionaires slash programs to fund their own tax cuts
GOP legislators are toying with reducing payouts under the system, including raising the retirement age and other benefit cuts. As one GOP representative recently told Fox Business Network, we're going to have to have some hard decisions on Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare.

(13,647 posts)Guy grew up as a nepo-baby in Apartheid South Africa. Grew up cheating the social compact, came to America, fell upwards making code and partying, talked a good hustle, fell upwards again, got bought out big time, bought in on a couple tech start-ups, made tons of money off early adopter work, government subsidies and contracts so long as he stayed away from any actual managing or designing of the product being made.
The three things he directly had design or management involvement in lately - the Cybertruck, Starship, and the social media site formerly known as Twitter - have had so many flaws, disastrous shortcuts and "cost optimizing" risk inducements, its obvious why the Government stressed Musk was not allowed anywhere near the SpaceX contract divisions.
Starlink was a DARPA submission from the government side of SpaceX that won the contest for a portable Satellite Broadcast terminal and antenna.
Tesla initially registered and went public as a Tech company rather than a Automotive Company so they could bypass a lot of automotive regulations -and were allowed to continue as such because the then NTSB had few standards, policies and process to competently assess the tech safety features on "experimental" electric cars.
Now that electric cars are common, NTSB has all these things in place, Musk doesn't like either the requirement to meet those standards or the competition.
So, in short, Musk's problem is that he's a lucky spoiled brat who peaked around 2014 and doesn't realized all his understanding of engineering and his great design ideas are locked in the 1990's. And he tweets 18 hours a day, allegedly does Ketamine and Coke, and buys political access so he can feel like he's as socially relevant as he was in 2009.

trump and Musk, both being nepobabies, Musk even righer, are so similar in that regard. Colorism seems to influence their thinking...as the old saying goes: "If you're Black, get back, if you're Brown, stick around."
But obviously the saying has to be adjusted because it's no longer: "...if you're Brown, stick around." It's now if you're Brown, hell no don't stick around, get back across the border and don't come back. In the meantime while we figure it out, get in that deportation camp until we can figure out where to ship you.

I got facts for them, American workers have been at the top of production without a fair compensation and benefits for their efforts.
Production up, wages and compensation flat. In comparison to the 1970's adjusted for inflation.
